 A Prayer

Let us pray for

  • All those who died from the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

  • Healing and comfort for their families and friends

  • Those who serve on the front lines of the pandemic

"Almighty God, grant to your church your Holy Spirit and the
wisdom which comes down from heaven, that your word may not
be bound but have free course and be preached to the joy and
edifying of Christ's holy people, that in steadfast faith we may
serve you and in the confession of your name abide to the end;
through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord."

Blue Christmas -- the Longest Night --

This year we are making plans for a worship service for The Longest Night on Friday, December 17, 2021. Last year was the first time we had this service at

Saint Andrew Lutheran Church.

Blue Christmas is a time when we remember those who are not always filled with joy and happiness at Chrismas but are dealing with grief and sadness.

Saint Peter Lutheran Lutheran Church (2776 Route 9, Malta, NY 12020)

has invited Saint Andrew to join them in this service.

Before we make our final plans, we would like feedback from you regarding going down to Saint Peter.  We will carpool as we have done in the past for anyone not wanting to drive. We would like your reply ASAP. Thank you!

Christmas Eve

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.  An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.  This will be a sign to you:  You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.'” Luke 2:8-12

Christmas Day

"May God bless you with a very Merry Christmas

and a Happy New Year!

"Loving Father, Help us remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and worship of the wise men.

"Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world.  Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting.  Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.

"May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children, and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake.  Amen."

-- Robert Louis Stevenson

“For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face.
Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully
known.  And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the
greatest of these is love.”  1 Corinthians 13:12-13
